a rainy adventure...

one of my longest days EVER at ubc will had to have been
tuesday, november 21st.

The day consisted of arriving at my regular B4 parking lot by 7:40AM after dropping off the siblings at their respective extracurricular-early-morning-practice/activity; then, walking to my favourite library, Scarfe... where i take my early morning nap (since my sleep is generally interrupted by the leaving from my bed at such an early hour - props to those that are AT work by the time i leave at 6:50AM!)

I then have my usual tuesday/thursday psyc lab subjects from eleven til noon (unless they decide not to show up - grr - like in recent weeks). Then I have my infancy psyc class =D, but today was our last discussion where we had BABIES to do 'tasks' with!!! It was too cute... with Chinita (2) and brother, Sammy (4 months), and Una (14 months)!

Not having any subjects after school, I decided to work on my last paper for the term - one which i had barely even started looking for a topic for! A couple of hours later, decide to meet up friends at the Gallery for 8 dollar Canadian pitchers! whooot! As it turns out, there was NO Canucks ppv game today... as we find out from a cute Pit diner =p

So then, off we go... the soon-to-be-graduate (tomorrow actually!) and i go off on her "last hurrah @ ubc" (her soon-to-be-alma mater). First stop, the bird coop, where we found no smoothie place which happened to be taken out a couple years ago as it turns out. Then, a lunge or two at the gym's entrance... a race at SRC C, where my socks decide to slip =p so it was my turn to lunge...

Where to next? - the res' food marts! Vanier has it's "Hubbard's" where we found just that - gummy coke bottles galore! Totem's is called "Magda's", where we acquired the sour pink and blue bottles (which i have now claimed as MY candy of choice... although, my first choice was "no candy"). On the way back to the sub, we made a stop at the telescope in hopes to finally get a view through the giant round thing above the EOSC building. Unfortunately, we were told that it really is only open to the public on saturdays after the sun sets. So off we go to the Norm theatre where tonight's showing was "The Fountain"... with the previews that I witnessed in watching a recent film, i had some sort of idea of the type of movie it was, but I did not expect what we saw tonight. There was nothing else to describe it but as W-E-I-R-D. dang.
"death is the road to awe" (apparently).

So thus, it's been quite an eventful day... and as it turns out, it's not exactly over. At the movie's end, it was just past 9:30... but we had to return to my car, an approximate ten-minute-walk back from the SUB. In the freezing cold LARGE rain (yes, it was large), it took slightly longer. I even stepped into a puddle that I clearly pointed out, yet didn't expect to be as deep as my boots AND socks found it to be. *sigh* Not meaning to sound like I'm complaining, i love the rain... but mostly when i'm indoors with a blanket =)

Back at the car, had to remove my soaking jacket and my boots... off to check if the liquor store at the village was open... not tonight after 10PM apparently. Hunger had started to become an issue; i say that in my usual understated, vague way as by this point in time, I had only consumed a cup of instant noodle soup, a pint of bzzr, and some nachos... Deciding to take the "99 B-line" route down 10th, we encountered a closed "some kind of pasta" - which I had not realized to be the name of a restaurant until a block after driving by and kay uttering the name. (lol)
Why not Swiss Chalet, one may ask? So why not. Let's! And since the angry, large rain wouldn't allow me to parallel park on the road, I decide to park at the designated lot which was empty minus one. Lo and behold, a parking pole just under 3 feet tall... *BAM* I hit the already slightly bent pole with the front bumper. Damn. A little shocked, but unscathed... unknowingly engrossed by something elsewhere - which has FINALLY caught up to her. Oh dear. Driving unfazed for awhile... it hits somewhere along the marine drive stretch... or does it? not sure when or where it really did hit... off to #9 then. Good *crispy* chowmein... thank you. =)

just a wish

*ugh* can't believe it took me that long to get *wooden spoon head stab*

but on the other hand, THANK YOU so much for coming :D

don't get what the shpoon is for. but ok.
